The Danish Customs Agency finalises Danish outstanding declarations submitted through DMS Export before 5 August

The Danish Customs Agency (Toldstyrelsen) has started finalising Danish export declarations in DMS Export Initially, declarations submitted before 5 August 2024 will be finalised. At the same time, the deadline for invalidation of Danish declarations is extended.

The Customs Agency is in the process of closing a large number of Danish export declarations that need to be granted exit via the EU. Some declarations still cannot be finalised automatically, and the Customs Agency is processing them. 

Initially, the Customs Agency will finalise export declarations submitted before 5 August 2024 and which have been transferred to a consignment or stated in a customs goods manifest in Manifest. These are export declarations that have not yet been cleared after 90 days.

The automatic finalisation (Export followed by Transit) of outstanding declarations is expected to be rolled out in January 2025.

The deadline for invalidation of Danish declarations is extended

Danish export declarations are generally invalidated automatically after 150 days. This is in accordance with Article 248(2) of the Commission Delegated Regulation The deadline applies to Danish declarations that have not yet been exited from the EU and where the customs office of export has not received alternative evidence of the exit of the goods. 

This deadline is now being extended so that the 150 days are counted from 1 March 2025.
