We are working to close Danish export declarations in DMS
In some cases, goods are not automatically released for export in DMS. This means that the Customs Agency must do it manually. This process can result in extra waiting time for companies. The Customs Agency is currently working to make the manual process of closing declarations more efficient.
For example, the release of goods for export is not yet granted automatically for export declarations in DMS that must be closed with a transit declaration. This part will be implemented when all EU countries have transitioned to new export and transit declaration systems.
If you are asked for alternative documentation
If the release of goods for export for an export declaration in DMS has not been granted within 90 days, a reminder procedure will start. You risk receiving a reminder requesting you to submit alternative documentation because the declaration has not been closed. The Customs Agency has set up a working group to handle the closing of declarations in DMS that have not been closed automatically.
Therefore, you do not need to respond to the reminders until the Customs Agency announces that the working group has finished closing these declarations.
If you are in doubt whether the reminder concerns one of the declarations that the Customs Agency is closing, you must write an email to export-request@toldst.dk and submit alternative documentation for export. You must also submit alternative documentation for export in cases where closing of the declaration in DMS is urgent.
If the export declaration in DMS contains a transit declaration, the required documentation is just a reference to the MRN number of the transit declaration entered on the export declaration. The Customs Agency will then close the declaration manually.
